A TORNADO WATCH
means that conditions are favorable for the development of a tornado in your area.

You should:

  • Look for darkening skies, flashes of lightning, the sound of thunder, large hail  or increasing wind. These are signs that the storm is approaching.

  • An approaching cloud of debris can mark the location of a tornado. A funnel may  not be visible
  • Before a tornado hits,  the air is often very still and the sky make take on a greenish color
  • A load roaring noise similar to the sound of a freight train is often heard from an approaching tornado.
