A TORNADO WATCH
means that conditions are favorable for the development of a tornado in your
area.
You should:
Remain
alert for approaching storms.
- Look for darkening skies, flashes of
lightning, the sound of thunder, large hail or increasing wind. These are signs that
the storm is approaching.
Look for signs of a tornado:
- An approaching cloud of debris can mark the location of a
tornado. A funnel may not be visible
- Before a tornado hits, the air is often very still and the
sky make take on a greenish color
- A load roaring noise similar to the sound of a freight train is
often heard from an approaching tornado.
Review the safety procedures for your
home, school, business, etc.
Listen to your local WeatherNet station, NOAA Weather Radio, or
commercial radio for the latest weather information.
Be weatherwise!
